LACTOSCAN
Applications
Lactoscan is a solution for milk composition analysis used within: Payment
Accurate analysis of the milk parameters provides the basis for fair payment to milk producers.
Fat, protein, lactose and solids have been part of payment schemes for many years.
With Lactoscan you can now pay for the milk not only according to weight and perhaps fat. Paying for the separate milk parameters stimulates the milk producers to improve milk's quality and to focus on feeding and breeding.
Raw milk quality determines the dairy product quality. For example, added water should be avoided for legal, hygienic, aesthetic and economic reasons. With payment analyses performed on Lactoscan, intended or unintended adulteration can be prevented. Methods of Milk falsification

Standardization
One of the main economic parameter in dairy production is controlling the fat balance for minimizing fat loss. Lactoscan provides results so fast that production is easily adjustable for optimal raw materials usage.
For production economy and quality assurance, accurate data on protein (and especially the ratio between casein and fat) are also essential. Using the milk analyzer Lactoscan you have the possibility to optimize this ratio every day. With Lactoscan as a solution, milk can be standardized according to other parameters than just fat.

Dairy Herd Improvement (DHI)
According to most milk payment systems, in order to receive the highest possible payment, the milk must have the optimum content of fat and protein. Milkanalyzer Lactoscan can be used for control of fat and protein in DHI systems.
In DHI programs, fat and protein are measured 11 times per year for each cow. Till now the samples were taken during the milk recording and analyzed at the laboratories. With milk analyser Lactoscan, used directly at the farms you can measure 10 samples per month and will have the real-time results. The increased quantity of measured samples will increase the statistical accuracy.

Information about fat, protein (and urea) can be used as farm management tools. The benefits are: optimized milk production and optimized cost of feeding. Over-feeding of protein by e.g. 20% will cost the farmer about 50 EURO per cow per year.
